Hi Everyone,
The majority of people selected the sick and the disabled as the most vulnerable to the effects of poverty.
I did as well. I was wondering if anyone else thought it was because even if there is an opportunity for work that one who is sick or disable can not even avail themselves of that opportunity?
I am really enjoying the discussions. It has started me thinking along very new paths for me. It has struck me that the God of mercy revealed through Jesus Christ results in a restoration of dignity. But it seems that especially our modern society looks at mercy as weakness which somehow demeans the recipient. I think Francis experienced mercy and then returned that very gift.
